Maria McCloskey, Associate Solicitor
Maria graduated from Queen's University Belfast with a 2:1 Honours Degree in Law and Politics. She was elected to the Executive Committee of QUB Students' Union, first as Welfare Officer and then as President. Maria joined Napier & Sons in 2005 where she carried out her apprenticeship and, after graduating with Distinction from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in 2007, settled into the firm's Litigation Department where she now works alongside the Litigation Partner, Joseph Napier.
Maria provides advice and representation to a range of clients, from personal litigants and sole traders/small businesses to large corporations and multi national businesses. Her work involves investigating disputes, providing advice, drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements and representing clients in the County Court and High Court. Her areas of expertise include personal injury claims, motor claims, accidents at work, damage to property and disputed invoices.
Maria is currently Vice Chair of the Northern Ireland Young Solicitors' Association. Her work on the committee involves representing the interests of young solicitors in Northern Ireland, attending conferences both nationally and internationally and helping to organise training and social events.
