Napier & Sons Solicitors raise almost £1,500 for Will Aid
Napier & Sons Solicitors with offices in Castle Arcade, Belfast has raised almost £1,500 for charity, by writing Wills for local clients as part of November 2011's Will Aid campaign. Will Aid clients were offered a basic Will and asked to make a donation instead of paying the firm's usual fees. The money raised is shared by Actionaid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, SCIAF, Sightsavers and Trocaire.
Maria McCloskey, Associate Solicitor, explained the firm's involvement in the scheme:
"As a company, Napier and Sons are always conscious of their corporate social responsibility. We are always looking at ways to give something back to the community. Will Aid is the perfect opportunity to combine our skills with something more. We are very proud of our participation and achievement in the Will Aid Campaign. Not only did the campaign give us the opportunity to strengthen links with existing clients, we believe it forged new links with clients who might not otherwise have heard of our practice."
Teresa Hill from Trócaire visited the firm to thank them for their hard work and to present a certificate from Will Aid. She said:
"Trócaire works in some of the world's poorest countries to alleviate poverty and to ensure that people's human rights are upheld. We work in long-term partnership with local organisations on the ground and through them are able to support people in building a better life for themselves and their families. Trócaire also works here at home to inform the public about the root causes of poverty and injustice and to mobilise them to take action to bring about global change. Will Aid has helped Trócaire's work in projects across the world; empowering the most vulnerable communities, defending their rights and ensuring their basic needs are met so they can look forward with hope to a brighter future."
Will Aid Campaign Manager, Shirley Marsland, said:
"The Will Aid charities are so grateful for the generosity and hard work of the team at Napier & Sons Solicitors and their fantastic contribution which has helped make this our most successful campaign to date. Already we have raised over £2.1 million. The Will Aid charities will be able to put the money raised to immediate use."
